Marble Mocha Macchiato

I like to pretend that I was a Starbucks barista in a former life. My go to drink for what seemed like forever was something you've probably never heard of. I felt like such a coffee snob when I would teach baristas how to make a Marble Mocha Macchiato since it was on the old menu and they aren't trained to make it anymore. I was that girl that made them redo it when they screwed it up, but only because it's too strong when they make it like a tuxedo mocha. If you're ever craving a remix to a caramel macchiato the MMM is your next must have.

The best way to explain how to make a MMM is saying it's similar to a caramel macchiato, but instead of vanilla syrup you use white mocha and instead of a caramel drizzle you use a regular mocha drizzle. This drink looks great iced, but tastes just as good hot!
My venti MMM. Go big or go home right?

Lately I've been drinking cappuccinos since that's what I drank while I was in Rome, but when I get that 12th gold star on my Starbucks app I can't wait to have my lucky 13 (MMM of course) on the house!

P.S. Can't wait for my free birthday drink that should be popping up shortly!

Love your Melon

Today when I woke up I saw my little had shared a link about a great one for one campaign that was touring part of the country. Luckily, I didn't have class until later and so I went with her to check it out! Love Your Melon is going on a smile campaign to spread smiles and raise awareness for a great cause. Their mission is to create and improve therapeutic treatment programs for children battling cancer and to educate the public on the difficulties children battling cancer face. Many of my Delta Gamma sisters and I bought hats not only to support this great cause, but also because they're a great accessory for winter! The hats are 100% cotton and have the adorable Love Your Melon logo on the front. They even come in a variety of colors as well as a beanie style!
Me and my sisters rocking our new hats!

The guys who started the campaign stop at colleges across the country and then go to the local children's hospital and donate hats to kids battling cancer. You can also have your head shaved to benefit the cause (I like my long hair too much to do this). Tomorrow they are donating hats to Lurie Children's Hospital which is near and dear to my heart since I volunteer there. I can't wait to see the impact that these St. Thomas students have on not only the pediatric cancer patients, but anyone who hears about their mission! Here's a quick video of Love Your Melon that I made a guest appearance in!

It's Still Sweater Weather

In November my mom and I were browsing through a trendy little store in LP called Art Effect and I found the coolest winter sweater! Now I'm not much of a Bears fan since I was born in Minnesota, but I would consider myself not a Packers fan. Naturally, I needed this sweater to show my attempted love for Chicago football.
I got it in a large because it was the only size they had left, but I love the oversized sweater fit. I would usually wear a small and I don't feel like it's too baggy, but I bet a small would look great as well! They have a bunch of other teams you can choose from as well as numbers. I put in a request for a Blackhawks jersey sweater because who can't resist a good hockey game? According to the website they only sell them in small boutiques and online so your best chance of finding one is on the Jersey Sweater website. Happy browsing!

Winter Woes

The worst part about winter is dry skin and I can never seem to have enough lotion in my purse. Unfortunately, my face used to take the biggest hit. I never could seem to find the perfect balance for skincare and so I went against the advice of my derm and found what works best for me.

As a teenager my skin was even more sensitive than it is now. My face was either breaking out or flaking off (grotesque, I know). When I discovered Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream I hit the jackpot! This lotion is fragrance free and keeps my skin moisturized no matter how many times I've hit the pool. It can seem a bit pricey as it's $46.50 for a 4.2 fl. oz. jar, but it lasts forever!

My aunt bought me a Clarisonic for my birthday last year and I will admit I was very hesitant at first. Why spend that much money on a brush? Then I used it. I will admit it can irritate your skin at first, but after a few deep cleanings you will see a noticeable difference! I have the PRO, but I'm sure the others work just as great!
I'm obsessed with Kiehl's, but the Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser is by far my favorite. I started using it before I received my clarisonic and will attest to it's magic. I don't mind spending $22.50 on a bottle that will last me about 6 months if I know it works. This is the only face wash that I've used that makes my skin feel great and limits breakouts.
Try these products out and let me know what your must haves are!
